Invitation to Tender

REMEDIAL WORKS TO SANITARY COLLECTOR SEWERS BARBICAN ROAD / CEDAR VALLEY/STANDPIPE LANE/RAVINA/COLLEGE GREEN, ST. ANDREW

The National Water Commission (NWC), through its Engineering and Project Delivery Department, intends to continue its sewerage expansion and upgrading works in the KSA area by retirement of the College Green and Ravina Mews Wastewater Treatment Plant and diverting the sewage to the Soapberry Treatment.

The NWC in this instance invites Contractors who are duly registered with the National Contracts Commission (NCC) in the categories of Civil Engineering, Grade 4 minimum or Pipelaying, Grade 3 minimum, to tender for works to be implemented herein.

The works will include the complete construction/reconstruction of approximate 130 meters of 200mm/300mm nominal diameter PVC sewers, to facilitate the retirement of College Green and Ravina Mews Wastewater Treatment Plant. Together with connection to existing/new sewer manholes in accordance with Contract Specifications and Conditions.

Prospective Tenderers may obtain documents as of Tuesday, April 3, 2012 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each weekday at the Engineering and Project Delivery Department, 4 Marescaux Road, Kingston 5 (Tel: 733-5456/7 Fax: 929-3642, e-mail chief.engineer@nwc.com.jm).

Tenderers must submit a copy of their current Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC) and valid Certificate of Registration from the National Contracts Commission (NCC) along with their bid. The original of both Certificates must be presented at the opening of tender or within five (5) working days of said opening.

A pre-tender site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at the NWC’s Widcombe Sewage Treatment Plant, 33 Barbican Terrace, Kingston 8 and it is advisable that all interested participants be present.
 
Tenders are to be returned no later than Tuesday, April 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. to:

Tenders must be returned in a plain envelope (as outlined in the Instructions to Tenderers), which is sealed and appropriately marked on the outside of the envelope:

“Tender for the Reconstruction Works to Sanitary Sewers Barbican Road/Cedar Valley/Standpipe Lane/Ravina/College Green”.

All tenders submitted will then be opened on Tuesday, April 19, 2012 at the 1st Floor Conference Room, 18 Oxford Road, Kingston 5 commencing 11:15 a.m. in the presence of tenderers/representatives who choose to attend.

The National Water Commission is not obliged to accept the lowest or any tender. Additionally, prior to any award a prospective contractor will be required to demonstrate to the NWC that they possess the necessary staff and equipment coupled with satisfactory experience to satisfy the requirement for specified trench reinstatement, approved traffic control and works safety.
