NATIONAL WATER COMMISSION THANKS RED STRIPE FOR THEIR GENEROUS SUPPORT

Following a tour of several small projects and a brief handing over ceremony in St. Thomas yesterday, the National Water Commission received the final cheque valued at $25 M from a commitment of $100M to assist in efforts to adequately restore water supply facilities that were severely affected by Hurricane Ivan.

Red Stripe’s Managing Director, Mark Mckenzie made the presentation to Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing, Transport, Water and Works, Dr. the Hon. Fenton Ferguson who after showering praises for the generous contribution said,  “Thanks to Red Stripe, many individuals and many communities have been provided with a service that is essential to their daily lives.”    The donation to the NWC assisted in the laying of several kilometers of pipelines, construction of holding tank and pumping station as well as the interconnection of some existing systems in St. Thomas.

Vice President of the Eastern Division, Courtney Lawes also expressed sincere  appreciation on behalf of he Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners, Management and staff of the National Water Commission for Red Stripe’s generous contribution and demonstration of corporate citizenship.  Some residents who were on hand to witness the handing over, were overjoyed for having received the precious commodity on a sustained basis.
